Extended Bio
Lindsey Flowers crafts her thoughts into folk anthems that make fun of the human condition. Known for her bright yet raspy voice and fingerpicked guitar, she brings humor and humanity to every song, bridging folk realism, Tokyo-inspired rhythm, and a storyteller’s heart.
When Lindsey performs, the atmosphere shifts. A quiet room becomes a shared laugh; strangers turn into friends. Her live shows are simple and magnetic: Barefoot songs beneath string lights, and honest lyrics that feel like a conversation you didn’t know you needed to have.
She’s a fingerpicker, lyricist, and vocal samplist. A mix that reflects her winding musical journey from Oklahoma to Africa to Japan and back again. While her roots trace to folk and Americana, her years in Tokyo added an unexpected pulse to her sound. Now back home in Oklahoma City with her husband, two kids, and three dogs, she’s building a bridge between tradition and playfulness, carrying both grit and grace in her music.
For nearly twenty years, Lindsey wrote songs but never shared them. Year after year, she attended WoodyFest, quietly inspired by her heroes. Finally, with encouragement from family, friends, and her mentor Susan Herndon, she realized, “What’s the point of writing songs if you’re not going to share them?”
At age 40, she made her debut at The Blue Door’s Women of WoodyFest showcase, a moment she describes as unreal. “Not everyone can say they debuted at their all-time favorite venue, says Flowers,, “I feel extremely lucky to have played there at all.” Today, she’s an active songwriter and seven-year WoodyFest Coalition member. Her songs celebrate kindness, humor, and respect for people from all walks of life, reminding us that no matter where we come from, music connects us.
Lindsey is currently performing across Oklahoma and preparing to record her first EP, a collection that weaves her signature humor, honesty, and a touch of house-inspired rhythm into timeless folk storytelling.
